Seeking a Resource Development

The EDEN Association was established in 1997 by educators and community leaders in the Negev region. The Eden Association is a non-profit, feminist organization that supports and rehabilitates women, girls and children at risk in the Negev. Eden established a network of external frameworks for girls at risk, as well as a new treatment model to deal with social issues, and the development of a guidance center. Eden runs two boarding schools: 1) the Eden Boarding School is situated at Kibbutz Carmia for girls in distress; and the Eden Eshkol Boarding School on Moshav Yesha for children at risk. In each of these boarding schools, Eden has implemented a unique educational and treatment model.  In addition, Eden runs a learning center and two social business initiatives.

 Job Description

 1)      Identifying, applying, and managing correspondence with foundations and donors (letters of inquiry, grants and activity reports, managing donor visits, etc).

2)      Writing proposals in English and Hebrew.

3)      Resource development through social media.

4)      Expanding connections with donors and foundations.

5)      Work with customers, donors, foundations and governmental institutions.

6)      Manage ongoing process with foundations from the initial grant, subsequent reporting and yearly renewal grants.

7)      Development and creation of additional channels for resource development.

8)      Answers to the Vice President, in coordination with the CEO of the organization.

 Job Requirements

 1)      English and Hebrew mother tongue level.

2)      Identification with the vision and goals of the organization.

3)      Experience in resource development, including work with foundations, and writing grants and budgets.

4)      Shows initiative and creativity.

5)      Proven experience with writing in Hebrew and English at a high level.

6)      Excellent people skills.

7)      Motivated and born leader.

8)      Familiar with the public sector and the third sector.

9)      Excellent command of Office and the Internet.

This is a 100% position in our offices at Moshav Sadeh Tzvi.

About the Job

We are seeking a Donor Relations Officer to join our Jerusalem office. In this position, you will be part of the team responsible for raising philanthropic funds that support JDC's humanitarian efforts around the world.

This is an ideal position for a confident and self-motivated individual who has the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, changing environment.

Position Description

  • Management and development of overseas funders and partnership projects: ongoing and proactive engagement to promote relationship-building activities on behalf of the organization
  • Preparation of specialized written materials: writing and editing grant applications and customized proposals, reports and other materials
  • Tracking and managing information such as funding history, donor profiles, follow-up activity etc
  • Accompaniment of funders to visit JDC projects, including public speaking and group facilitation
  • Other activities as needed

Position requirements are:

  • Dynamic, creative professional
  • Exceptional organizational skills; self-starter
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and oral presentation techniques
  • Team player with leadership capacity
  • Strong English writing skills
  • English mother tongue; high level Hebrew skills
  • At least a bachelor's degree
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel, PPT, Outlook
  • Israeli driver's license
  • Knowledge of the American Jewish philanthropic environment an advantage
